Join Our Collaborative Care Team!
The Peterborough Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our well‑established medical practice. This is a permanent, full‑time position averaging 24 hours per week.

For the first 12‑18 months, you will play a key role in care coordination and clinical decision support during a maternity leave coverage period, working closely with two physicians and a dedicated receptionist. After this period, you will transition into a hands‑on patient care role, supporting our 19 Family Physicians and assisting across multiple specialties, including OB/GYN, general surgery, and gastroenterology.

Primary Responsibility:

The Office Nurse is required to work within their scope of practice and co‑operatively with all members of the health care team delivering excellent patient–centered care. As a key member and integral part of the health care team your focus is supporting our patients to maximize their health and wellness.

Tasks and Duties:

• Prepare patient charts, take vital signs, a brief history as appropriate
• Providing vaccines and other injections to all ages of patients
• Providing wound care
• Assisting with paps and other minor procedures
• Respect the dignity and privacy of patients by maintaining strict confidentiality of personal health information.
• Support and uphold established clinic policies and procedures, objectives, quality, and safety.
• Maintain positive behavior, approach, attitude, and commitment to interpersonal service toward patients, visitors, and co‑workers.
• Participate in departmental and Clinic‑wide staff meetings and other training in‑service as assigned.
• Liaison with referring physicians/nurses and office staff in a cordial manner.
• Deliver service to both patients and fellow Clinic members by engaging in positive interactions and following through on promises made in a thoughtful, efficient, timely and courteous manner so that their experience is better than expected.
• Prep/tidy exam rooms, direct patients to ensure there is a continuous patient flow.
• Schedule tests and procedures, faxing prescriptions as directed by the physician.
• Assisting the receptionist with patient calls and concerns
• Contribute to team effort by sharing in Suite responsibilities such as:
  • Preparing laundry or autoclave to go out
  • Ordering internally for office and medical supplies
  • Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
• Any other duties needed to ensure consistent operation of the Clinic.
