The Role
We’re partnering with a leading national courier company to find an Operations Supervisor to lead their Peterborough terminal. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and offers a unique opportunity to drive cultural change and operational excellence in a high-energy environment. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will oversee all terminal staff, including drivers and warehouse personnel, while implementing new standards and processes to ensure efficiency, safety, and service excellence.

Provide hands-on leadership for warehouse staff and drivers, managing daily operations and workflowRecruit, train, schedule, and develop terminal staff, including coaching and discipline as requiredEnsure all inbound and outbound freight is processed accurately and on timeMonitor and report operational metrics (KPI), including productivity, quality, safety, and equipment performanceLead culture change initiatives to energize the terminal and create accountability across all shiftsApply strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address operational challenges quickly and effectivelyEnsure compliance with safety, security, and company policies while maintaining operational efficiencyMaintain open communication with staff and management, including incident reporting, HR matters, and process updatesIdentify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve service levelsHandle customer inquiries and complaints professionally and expedientlyRequirements
Energetic, confident, and assertive personality with the ability to step into a long-tenured team and drive change2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience; entry-level management role, maturity and presence essentialExperience in courier, transportation, manufacturing, fast-paced industrial, or similar operational environments preferredAbility to thrive in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment and make decisive, timely decisionsStrong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable with basic reportingAbility to manage unionized staff while maintaining authority and fostering accountabilityFlexible, adaptable, and willing to lead by example in a hands-on roleAbility to reset terminal culture and motivate a long-standing teamDecisive and confident under pressure with strong presence and leadership skillsComfortable implementing change, setting standards, and holding team members accountable#INDSTRIVEON
