Peterborough Musicfest is a non-profit, charitable organization that has delivered free-admission concerts every Wednesday and Saturday evening since 1987. As one of the largest free-admission festivals of its kind in Canada, Musicfest generates more than $4.3 million in annual economic impact and welcomes nationally and internationally recognized artists to Del Crary Park each summer.

Position OverviewThe Park Manager plays a critical leadership role in onsite festival operations. This individual is responsible for park logistics, equipment coordination, production staffing, scheduling, show supervision, and post-season strike. You will lead by example, ensuring a safe, organized, and positive environment for staff, volunteers, artists, and the public.
Key Responsibilities Budgeting- Estimate and track consumable supply costs for onsite operations
- Manage production float and petty cash, providing timely reconciliations
- Coordinate seasonal storage requirements
- Support negotiation and coordination of backline and sound equipment rentals
- Manage equipment pickups, returns, and deliveries as required
- Liaise with City staff and festival leadership regarding site upgrades and repairs
- Schedule rental trucks, storage containers, trailers, storage bins, and port-a-potties
- Oversee load-in and load-out logistics
- Set staffing priorities in coordination with senior leadership
- Review resumes, conduct interviews, and hire Setup and Teardown Crew
- Oversee onboarding, scheduling, and supervision of park staff
- Ensure compliance with OHSA regulations and safe work practices
- Track production hours and submit payroll summaries
- Maintain progressive discipline standards
- Ensure incident reports are completed and submitted within 12 hours
- Coordinate all operational activities at the park
- Create and distribute Day Runs to artist tour managers
- Develop and circulate daily production schedules
- Communicate clearly with production personnel, sound crew, volunteers, and leadership
- Ensure all trailers, storage areas, gates, and equipment are secured
- Conduct staff training and pre-show briefings
- Oversee seating, kiosks, fencing, barricades, banners, and park layout
- Liaise with security, first aid, fireworks providers, and third-party vendors
- Monitor weather conditions and communicate cancellation protocols when required
- Supervise strike and complete final park security checks
- Coordinate Strike Day logistics and staffing
- Oversee return of rented equipment
- Ensure storage and trailer returns are completed properly
- Deliver updated inventory and damage reports
- Participate in season-end reporting
- Post-secondary education with three to four years of event management experience, or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong administrative skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, Mac environment an asset
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve under pressure
- Professional, detail-oriented, and highly organized
