A Senior Solution Architect is needed to support Enterprise Architecture artifact creation for five projects within the Geospatial Ontario IT Program.

• GIS Delivery Platform Planned Maintenance FY24-25 (20% allocation or 39 days of effort) This is an annually reoccurring maintenance project for the GIS Delivery Platform (GDP). Work this fiscal will focus on software patching, Portal for ArcGIS implementation, Geocortex to Verti
  
  GIS migration, Cyber Security analysis/mitigations, and platform architecture review/documentation.
• GIS Delivery Platform Modernization FY24-25 (21% allocation or 41 days of effort) This is a GIS infrastructure modernization project focused on implementing modern platform monitoring, analytics, and reporting middleware.
• LIO Modernize Data Maintenance (LIO Editor) (7.2% allocation or 14 days of effort) LIO Editor/Mapper/Reporter toolset is a legacy GIS data maintenance solution owned by Geospatial Ontario. This project aims to perform a modernization options analysis, then create / recommend a solution design.
• GEO Data Maintenance Modernization (14.9% allocation or 29 days of effort) This project aims to modernize the legacy LIO Editor GIS data maintenance solution. This is an implementation project for procuring new GIS infrastructure, configuring middleware, building editing tools, procedures, and following Ontario Government IT governance standards.
• ArcGIS Portal (29.2% allocation or 57 days of effort) This is a new high-priority project for multiple ministries. This project focuses on provisioning required ArcGIS Enterprise infrastructure and middleware resources, configuring, then deploying a Federated Portal for multi-ministry shared usage.
• MECP - Parks Legacy Tool Upgrade (7.7% allocation or 15 days of effort) This project is focused on upgrading a environmental classification application based in Arc Map which is losing vendor support.

• Total IT experience of at least 10 years, out of which, at least 5 years leading solution architecture on large complex projects
• Experience across a variety of technologies and design approaches (GIS Enterprise tools, APIs, Data Marts, Data Lakes, Vendor packaged and/or hosted solutions, Workflow Management, Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science Workflows, Security, etc.)
• Applied Data Modelling and development of solution and Program Area(s) Data Architecture into Solution Architecture
• You have extensive experience with OPS Enterprise Architecture Gating processes
  , with an emphasis on Architectural Gate Point 1 and 2 and the creation, review, and engagement process.
• Provides general and situation-specific GIS application and infrastructure architecture interpretation advice and expertise to other project and/or enterprise level I&IT project teams, client management and staff, clients, and external contractors.
  • Hands-on knowledge of programming languages Python, Java, JavaScript; modern JavaScript-based technologies (Node.js, React, Vue, etc.), Mobile development and semantic accessible languages (HTML5, CSS/SCSS).
