Travel PACU Registered Nurse — Petaluma, CA
Unit: PACU / Recovery Room
Shift: Days (8–12 hr shifts available)
Contract: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Charting: Epic
Call Required: Yes (1–2 nights/week + weekend call)
Float: Yes (Pre-Op, Phase I & II Recovery)
Patient Census: ~15/day
Weekend Coverage: Every Other
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage post-anesthesia recovery patients
- Assess airway, pain, vitals, and neurological status
- Manage IVs, blood products, cardiac monitoring, and sedation recovery
- Respond to post-op complications and escalate care as needed
- Provide patient/family education and discharge instructions
- Document care in Epic using SBAR communication standards
- Float to Pre-Op and Phase I/II PACU as needed
Required Certifications
- BLS & ACLS (PALS preferred)
- 1+ Year PACU Experience
- ICU / ED background preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
