We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our finance team. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a strong background in financial management, reporting, and analysis to help drive our company's financial success. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to the executive team.

This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive system of internal controls
    • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management and external stakeholders
    • Coordinate and manage external audits
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Lead the annual budgeting process and develop long-term financial forecasts
    • Analyze budget variances and provide insights to management
    • Prepare and present financial reports and metrics to the executive team
    • Develop financial models to support strategic decision-making
    • Monitor cash flow and manage working capital
  • Project Accounting:
    • Implement and maintain project accounting systems and processes
    • Oversee budgeting, cost tracking, and analyze profitability
    • Collaborate with project managers to monitor financial performance
    • Manage job costing and WIP reporting
  • Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor a small team of accounting professionals
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge
    • Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Risk Management and Compliance:
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
    • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures
    • Collaborate with legal counsel on contractual matters
  • Systems and Process Improvement:
    • Evaluate and implement financial software and tools to improve efficiency
    • Streamline accounting processes and workflows
    • Develop and maintain documentation for financial procedures
    • Identify opportunities for automation and cost reduction

Ideal

Qualifications:

A combined 7-10 years of hands on accounting & finance experience, with minimum 3 years within a similar level role or above

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
