MWR Kids Camp/Teen Center
DUTIESPerforms a variety of duties in support of the Youth Services program for Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR). Responsible for activities/events of the Community/Teen Center and Boys & Girls Club as well as assisting in the management/upkeep of the facility. May be assigned to the Gym, Aquatic Center, or Child Development Center (CDC) on an as needed basis.
Assists in the development of Boys & Girls Club after school programming for youth and teens. Assists in the development of on and off base activities for the teens both during the school year as well as the summer.
Assists in the development of Boys & Girls Club seasonal camps for children K-6th grade and teens in grades 6th-12th. Assists in the establishing and implementing of the Military Boys & Girls Club program modules and activities that support the youth/teen population. Assists in the creation of monthly calendars for Boys & Girls Club youth/teen programming. Creates and distributes weekly flyers and other marketing tools used to advertise the Community/Teen Center and Boys & Girls Club upcoming activities.
Maintains daily sign-in log and tallies daily participants for future reference. Report attendance totals up to supervisor through E-mail once a week for record keeping. Completes all required monthly Mandated Training by designated deadlines.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDMinimum Qualifications
- Must be 21 or older with a high school diploma or GED.
- Professional work experience that includes dealing with the public and working with children.
- Demonstrated ability to work without supervision.
- Must be Lifeguard certified, or able to get certified, we will guide you through the process if needed.
- At least 1 year experience in the field.
- Current CPR/First aid certification.
- Prior experience working in a BGCA or familiar with BGCA programming.
