tillicoultry quarries is a successful and fast‑growing family‑owned quarrying company and major supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready‑mixed concrete, mortar, render and sports sand to the building and road construction industry. We operate in over 35 sites throughout central scotland, the north east of england and east anglia.

due to our continued success and rapid growth, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a trainee plant operator based at our perth depot. The successful candidates should be customer focused, reliable, well‑organised and able to work well as part of a team in a busy site environment.

we will provide you with an opportunity to gain vocational qualifications within 12 months of starting employment with us, job security and regular overtime paid at an enhanced rate.

key responsibilities
  • responsibility for the day‑to‑day safe and efficient running of the concrete plant.
  • promote and comply with company health and safety procedures at all times.
  • ensure all mixing equipment is maintained in line with company standards to maximise plant output potential.
  • order raw materials in a timely manner and input them via the control systems to ensure accurate stock management.
  • ensure accurate production and quality of ready‑mix products.
  • ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
  • housekeeping of yard and stock areas.

  • willingness to work flexibly in a fast‑paced environment.
  • willingness to work overtime to meet business needs.
  • ability to work as part of a team and independently as required.
  • strong work ethic and commitment to delivering quality standards.
  • concrete batching experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • full driving licence.
