The roleAt SSEN Transmission, we are delivering one of the UK’s most ambitious energy‑infrastructure transformations. As part of the Pathway to 2030 programme and beyond, we are seeking an experienced Interface Project Manager to join the ASTI team and help drive the successful construction of our HVDC Converter Stations.
This is a pivotal role within the ASTI Delivery team, contributing directly to Scotland and the UK’s Net Zero ambitions. Our projects span the Highlands, Western Isles and Aberdeenshire, so regular travel to project sites and ASTI offices will be required.
You willAs an Interface Project Manager, you will plan, execute and monitor key interfaces across technical, commercial and stakeholder work streams. Your role ensures that all multi‑contract interactions are managed effectively, avoiding issues that may impact programme or cost.
Key Responsibilities Include- Implementing the Interface Management Plan for the ASTI programme, identifying interfaces, assigning owners, and tracking progress against schedule requirements, proactively identifying issues with potential impact to cost or programme, and coordinating timely resolution through clear and consistent communication.
- Leading the coordination of design and construction interface activities, working collaboratively across Engineering, Construction Management, Procurement, Commercial, and SHE teams, to ensure interface logs are accurate, up‑to‑date and effectively maintained.
- Assessing the impact of any contract milestone changes and communicating these effectively across impacted contracts.
- Managing, assessing and owning interface risks and interface‑related milestones, providing weekly progress, risk and mitigation reporting to the Senior Project Manager.
- Ensuring all project delivery complies with statutory requirements and obligations, including CDM Regulations, Health & Safety, Quality and technical standards.
- Proven experience delivering multi‑discipline, multi‑stakeholder projects with responsibility for managing design and construction interfaces across multiple contractors, with experience in developing and implementing offsite modular build solutions being advantageous.
- Knowledge of integrated project programme development and management, with a strong understanding of how technical and commercial decisions influence programme outcomes.
- Effective leadership skills with a broad knowledge of project management methodologies and multi‑contract delivery environments, excellent organisational and communication skills, with confidence in constructively challenging others when required.
- A collaborative and supportive approach with the ability to build strong working relationships across diverse teams, with experience in conflict resolution and planning project activities, along with the ability to work effectively within multi‑discipline teams.
- The ability to manage and prioritise your own workload while meeting time‑critical deadlines, and a strong capability to support package teams in delivering defined work scopes, and a willingness and ability to maintain regular onsite presence during execution phases, supported by a full driving licence.
