Overview
We have new opportunities for Highways Maintenance Operatives to join our NMC NE Account in Perth. This is a full‑time permanent role. The hours are 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm (with a 3:30 pm finish on Friday) and occasional night shifts. The position offers a competitive salary and overtime.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake highway maintenance tasks such as carriageway and footway patching, kerbing, ironwork replacement, drainage maintenance and other routine and cyclical maintenance.
- Operate and maintain vehicles, including HGVs and small plant machinery, ensuring all checks and routing maintenance are completed.
- Participate in winter and summer standby duties, including emergency call‑outs.
- Maintain safety protocols for self and team.
- Keep accurate records and complete all necessary paperwork, maintaining communication and liaising with Amey employees, subcontractors, emergency services, police, clients, and customers.
- Experience in roads and/or street works.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Awareness and compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Previous winter maintenance experience is an advantage.
- HGV licence is preferred but not essential.
