We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor to support the safe delivery of a major highways project in Perth.
The HSE Advisor will work closely with site teams and management to promote a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with legislative requirements, and drive continual improvement in health, safety and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day HSE advice and support to site and project teams
* Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, standards and company procedures
* Carry out regular site inspections, audits and behavioural safety observations
* Support the development, implementation and review of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
* Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, producing reports and identifying corrective actions
* Deliver HSE briefings, toolbox talks and training where required
* Monitor environmental controls, waste management and sustainability initiatives on site
* Support client and stakeholder HSE requirements and attend meetings as required
* Assist with internal and external audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Promote a strong safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a similar HSE / SHE / QHSE Advisor role within construction or civil engineering
* Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practice
* Experience working on live construction sites
* Confident communicator able to influence and engage site teams
* Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload across multiple sites
Qualifications
* NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate (desirable)
* IOSH membership or working towards
* CSCS Card (relevant to role)
* Full UK Driving Licence
