About

The Role

As Manager, Logistics at The Real Real (TRR), you will be a hands‑on leader overseeing a team of assistant managers, drivers, dispatchers, specialists, and third‑party logistics partners. You and your team will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient movement of inventory across the TRR network each day. You will translate transportation strategy and business objectives into operating plans, routing and staffing decisions, and clear performance standards for both in‑house and third‑party pickup networks, ensuring service that reflects TRR's brand and values.

You will also own core transportation functions including fleet management, in‑transit inventory accuracy, and safety programs. Along with your day‑to‑day transportation responsibilities, you will serve as the primary operational point of contact for the transportation team's internal partners, ensuring reliable, high‑quality support through proactive communication, training, and effective change management.

What You Get To Do Every Day

Manage a team of assistant managers and their hourly teams (drivers, dispatchers, specialists), setting clear expectations and goals, providing regular coaching and feedback, and creating a high‑performance, inclusive culture where success is recognized and performance gaps are addressed.

Be regularly present in the operation (on the floor / in the field) to oversee routing, staffing, and execution for in‑house pickup operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient movement of inventory throughout the TRR network each day.

Program‑manage third‑party pickup partners, including SLAs, pricing adherence, and ongoing performance reviews, while balancing work across internal and external networks to meet cost, service, and coverage goals.

Track fleet safety performance, establish clear safety benchmarks, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Implement training, process, and policy changes that reduce incident rates and promote a strong safety culture.

Build and manage labor and fleet plans that align with company financial targets. Define and maintain KPIs for assistant managers (productivity, labor efficiency, unit cost, service quality), monitor weekly performance, analyze variance to plan, and drive timely corrective actions.

Track fleet utilization, operating costs, and out‑of‑service time; partner with internal teams and vendors to reduce downtime and cost while maintaining safety and service standards.

Develop and refine training programs for assistant managers and hourly team members to support effective onboarding and ongoing skill development. Provide early, data‑backed feedback on new hire performance, and lead communication and change management for new tools, processes, and service offerings.

Act as the primary operational contact for transportation‑related needs from internal partners (e.g., operations, sales, product, customer service, asset protection), ensuring high levels of responsiveness and service through proactive communication, clear expectations, and structured follow‑up.

Identify opportunities to improve KPIs, cost structure, and service reliability across both in‑house and third‑party networks. Design and execute medium‑ to long‑term improvement initiatives (e.g., new routes, markets, services, or tools) from problem definition through pilot, rollout, and post‑mortem.
