The Patient Safety Sitter works under RN supervision to ensure patient safety, observe behavior changes, and provide diversion activities in a behavioral health setting.

• Responsible for patient safety under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Observe patient status for changes in behavior and report all observations to the RN.
• Provide a safe environment and identify safety risks to reduce them.
• Apply appropriate interventions: observe, redirect, provide diversional activities.
• Work in isolation precautions situations when required.
• Promote positive patient and team interactions by reinforcing HMH core beliefs and standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, privacy, and dignity.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent program in progress.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within 60 days of hire.

Minimum rate of $17.12 per hour.
