Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Perrysburg, Ohio.

- Hourly Pay: $33.16 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained (up to $700)
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter – four times per year
- Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification/post‑secondary degree (preferred)
- Basic tools (required)
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Routine preventative maintenance: oil changes, brake and tire work (required)
- Minimum two (2) years of a combination of classroom training and work experience (preferred)
- Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Driver responsibilities: position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee you must:
- Obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Important note:
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform standard component inspections and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, which could include but are not limited to service island support
