Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer / Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to support supplier quality initiatives and material quality performance for a short-term contract assignment in Perrysburg, OH
. This role will work closely with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams to drive corrective actions, continuous improvement, and supplier development. This position is ideal for a hands-on quality professional who thrives in supplier-facing environments and brings strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Perform failure analysis and inspection techniques on supplier materials
- Support supplier audits, assessments, and source inspections
- Evaluate supplier approval status and determine the need for corrective action plans
- Interface with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to address material quality issues
- Initiate and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Support Supplier Quality Development initiatives
- Drive process and continuous improvement efforts
- Assess supplier processes and capabilities using Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Mentor suppliers to improve quality performance and meet customer requirements
Required Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
- Strong experience in Quality Engineering and/or Supplier Quality Engineering
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Quality Control & Quality Assurance
- ISO 9001 standards
- PPAP documentation
- APQP
- Control Plans & Flow Charts
- Data Analysis & Supplier Management
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Blueprint reading
- GD&T
- Precision measurement tools
- Solid understanding of quality control standards and methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail with a results-driven mindset
- No overnight travel, per diem, or mileage reimbursement
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- On-site support required
