Position: Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Perry, GA
Provide expert nursing care in a dynamic Med Surg/Telemetry unit within a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital known for its comprehensive cardiac and stroke centers. This contract role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with patients experiencing a variety of acute and chronic conditions in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver skilled nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as heart failure, A-Fib, acute kidney injury, COPD, asthma, sepsis, diabetes, and post-op cardiac procedures.
• Manage complex clinical tasks including trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, insulin/heparin drips, wound care, Foley catheter maintenance, and cardiac telemetry interpretation.
• Perform IV insertion, central line care, and coordinate multidisciplinary patient care, including discharge planning and patient education with emphasis on renal and fluid management.
• Utilize EPIC EMR and specialized monitoring equipment (Phillips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Glucommander).
• Adhere to hospital protocols and contribute to efficient patient flow on a busy unit.

Qualifications and Desired

Experience:

• Current RN license.
• Minimum 2 years Med Surg/Telemetry experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and Medical-Surgical certification preferred.
• Proven competence in cardiac rhythm interpretation (BCR requirement).
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills essential.

Schedule and Environment:

• 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a) with weekend rotation and holiday coverage.
• No on-call duties.
• Supportive team including charge nurses, CNAs, RTs, hospitalists, and intensivists.
