Med-Surg Nurse; RN - Perry, GA

Position: Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Perry, GA
An exciting contract opportunity is available for an experienced Med Surg/Telemetry RN at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital in Perry, GA. This dynamic 30-bed unit specializes in post/pre cardiac care and step-down ICU patients with common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, and sepsis. Nurses will provide care at a ratio of 1:4-6 with CNA support.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active RN license with at least 2 years Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) certification required;
  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Medical-Surgical certification preferred
• Strong skills in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucose and insulin drip administration, and cardiac telemetry interpretation
• Proficiency in IV insertion, central line management, wound care, and post-op monitoring
• Ability to coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, including discharge planning focusing on renal and fluid management
• Effective clinical assessment skills suited for a Level 1 Trauma Hospital setting

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac and step-down ICU patients following standardized protocols
• Collaborate closely with CNAs, charge nurses, resource nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7
• Utilize EMR (EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors in patient care
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning
• Work 12-hour shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A) with a weekend rotation averaging 5-6 weekends every 6 weeks and holiday coverage
