Critical Care Registered Nurse - Perry, Georgia

A demanding and rewarding opportunity for experienced ICU nurses is available in Perry, GA, supporting a 14-bed Medical ICU within a Level 1 Trauma-designated teaching hospital. This contract assignment offers a chance to care for critically ill adult patients with complex conditions such as respiratory failure, sepsis, renal failure, GI bleeds, and more.

This unit manages patients requiring intensive monitoring and invasive procedures. Nurses provide care to hemodynamically unstable patients with a focus on ventilator support, management of invasive lines (arterial, central venous, intracranial pressure), vasoactive medication titration, and bedside procedures including chest tube and tracheostomy management.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Current RN license with NIHSS, BLS, and ACLS certifications required
• CCRN certification preferred but not mandatory
• Proficiency in tracheostomy care, chest tube management, peripheral IV starts, and vasoactive drips
• Familiarity with monitoring invasive lines and ventilator management
• Experience with EPIC EMR and unit-specific equipment like TABLO, Belmont Rapid Infuser, and PCA pumps

Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one or one-to-two patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting
• Coordinate care with CNAs, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Assist with or independently manage complex bedside procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC and utilize advanced monitoring technologies
• Adhere to 12-hour shift schedules rotating every 6 weeks, with coverage on major holidays and approximately 5-6 weekends per rotation

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts (7 AM-7 PM or 7 PM-7 AM)
• Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekends per 12 shifts (6-week schedule)
• No on-call requirement
