General Purpose

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs (electrical, mechanical and fabrication).

Base pay range for this role is $25.96 - $35.70, contingent on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

Essential Functions
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical material handling equipment, including transportation conveyors, sortation systems, and forklifts.
  • Perform maintenance projects on conveyor systems, including installation, removal, and process improvement changes.
  • Perform emergency mechanical repairs to failed material handling systems.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs to facility equipment.
  • Identify and locate required repair parts for failed systems.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping such as work orders, time sheets, and parts requests.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
  • Command of basic manual hand tools and powered hand tools (drills, grinders, saws); ability to weld and use a cutting torch.
  • Knowledge of basic facility repairs: painting, minor plumbing, lighting; knowledge of spare parts procedures and inventory control.
  • Certification and operation of forklifts, powered pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires overtime work as necessary.
  • Must be flexible to work any shift and/or weekends as scheduled.
  • 1-2 years of progressive mechanical aptitude in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical inclination required.
  • Basic troubleshooting of mechanical system failures.
  • Expected to conduct all assigned tasks scheduled by supervisor.
  • Well organized and able to complete work orders.
  • Accountable for company assets, expenditures, and tools or equipment assigned.
  • Safety first: maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others at all times.
Physical Requirements / ADA

Job requires ability to work in a warehouse environment on a concrete floor all day. Continuous standing, walking, hearing, pushing, and pulling. Consistent timeliness and regular attendance necessary. Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, talking, handling objects, and lifting to 50 lbs. Vision requirements: ability to see information in print and/or electronically. Full-time in-office presence required for team interaction, meetings, and collaboration.
