Position: Assistant Diesel Mechanic $7,500 Sign On

Responsibilities
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Performs minor repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
  • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Assists in the repair and adjustment of equipment.
  • Washes vehicles and equipment.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles.
  • Assists senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
  • Assists with service calls for breakdowns.
  • Performs other maintenance related work as required.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standard
Requirements
  • No prior work experience required.
  • A valid drivers license, with a clean driving record
  • Be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Starting salary of $34.85 per hour depending on experience
  • Stable hours for your financial stability
  • Tool allowance $350 per quarter
  • $7,500 Sign on Bonus
  • Boot allowance $275 per year (after 90-day probationary period)

Schedule and Work Environment
  • Monday
    - Friday
  • 12:00pm- 8:30pm (Occasional Saturday)
  • Overtime Required When Necessary

  • The normal setting for this job is a repair / maintenance shop at our Peoria IL hauling site.

What you’ll be doing next

  • Fix trucks and equipment servicing over 20 million customers across the USA.
  • Work on equipment that requires a high level of skill and determination.
  • Use modern tools and procedures to deliver maintenance on diesel equipment and, at some locations, on our growing fleet of CNG trucks.
