PTR-Precision Technologies, Inc. is a member of the Global Beam Technologies group, the largest manufacturer of electron beam welding and drilling systems in the world. PTR manufactures Electron Beam Welding Systems for the North American market and provides process development, service, training and job shop EB welding services at our Enfield, CT plant. PTR, who is also a member of the larger Global Welding Technologies Group, provides support to the US igm Robotic Systems division.

The Field Service Technician is responsible for maintenance, repair and troubleshooting, sensor-controlled welding systems. Assisting customers on-site by responding to their requests for service in a timely and efficient manner as well as establishing and maintaining proper business relationships with them.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of traveling to customer sites, who has a knack for troubleshooting and fixing things. This position is based out of the Peoria, Illinois area, and is required to travel 75% of the time, sometimes out of the country, and requires a valid US Passport.

• Responsible for maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of welding systems.
• Completing Preventative Maintenance and field modifications.
• Keeping up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner.
• Programming of Welding Robot systems
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of MIG welding, and solid mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Knowledge of AC circuits, AC and DC motor control, high voltage 480-volt circuits.
• Ability to use hand tools, solder, and wire.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenenace instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills, problem-solving abilities, and reasoning ability.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.
• Able to organize documenation, both hard-copy and electronic.
• Able to systematically train themselves by utilizing available in-house knowledge.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
• Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.

• Minimum of Associates Degree in Electrical Mechanical Mainteance, or Similar or 5 years' of expereience.
• Experience or equivalent education servicing or troubleshooting CNC machine tools preferred.
• Computer Skills, with proficiency with MS Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.
• Welding technology knowledge helpful, igm will train.

• Monday to Friday
