Huck’s Market Store Manager

Every store manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the store within company policy and the local laws in such a manner as to ensure that the store is profitable. Store Managers also must maintain the highest level of customer service.

• Customer Service - Gives all customers prompt and courteous service adhering to all Best In Class standards, ensures store appearance reflects company expectations, ensures store is open and ready for business during all hours, handles all customer conflicts by using our method of MAKE IT RIGHT.
• Increase profits to ensure the financial security of our ESOP - Utilizing all tools and departments to ensure all programs and policies are executed, managing all expenses and sales to budget (or better), neighborhood marketing, participate in all Suggestive Selling contests by motivating Sales Associates.
• General Management - Is committed to our Vision/Mission Statement (T.H.A.N.K.S.), ongoing recruiting for talented candidates, effectively schedules associates to meet business demands, communicates with store associates, division manager, and corporate office, follows all federal, state and local laws, role model conduct, controls variable expenses, ensures all associates adhere to company uniform policy, all Store Manager checklists performed daily, ensures Sales Associate checklists performed each shift, ensures schedules posted two weeks in advance.
• Accounting - Ensures all paperwork done accurately and timely, maintains inventory and cash loss within company guidelines, conducts inventories, cash audits, cigarette counts, cost and supply audits, ensures all store deposits taken to bank daily, ensures sufficient change available.
• Human Resources - Treats associates with dignity, ensures breaks, advises division manager of personnel situations, commits to training programs, ensures proper recording of hours, provides harassment‑free environment, complies with responsible retailing policy, works on ongoing training, records hours worked in workstation.
• Security - Ensures cash handling procedures followed, security video surveillance working, safe shopping environment, protects company assets, vendor check‑in procedures, cash only kept in safe, register, bank.
• Merchandising - Promotes signs posted, current plan‑ograms used, communicates with district manager, ensures merchandise orders sent properly, works with DSD vendors, monitors inventory levels, food service areas kept clean, sanitation procedures followed.
• Maintenance - Floors kept clean, reports maintenance problems, ensures equipment working by maintaining proper operating procedures.
• Safety - Ensures ladders properly used, lifting procedures, wet floor signs, reports accidents, reports injuries, ensures EPA regulations met.
