A Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist ensures that products, services, or software meet company, industry, and safety standards before reaching customers. They are responsible for structuring the QA approach in a product distribution environment, identifying / documenting product defects, conducting internal audits, and collaborating with teams to implement improvements. Key skills include a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, competence in product testing equipment, and aptitude with general quality systems and compliance systems.
This opportunity will be 100% onsite in our Elgin, Illinois corporate headquarters location.
- Analysis:
Develop, execute, and document inspection plans to identify defects and quality issues. - Process Improvement:
Review, document, and update quality assurance procedures, standards, and technical documentation. - Compliance & Auditing:
Perform inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards. - Documentation & Reporting:
Track defects and quality metrics in databases, reporting findings to product teams and management. - Collaboration:
Work with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to resolve issues and improve product quality.
- Analytical
Skills:
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and spot subtle to complex issues. - Attention to Detail:
Intense focus on ensuring accuracy and catching minor errors at all levels of the quality and compliance systems. - Technical Proficiency:
Experience with ERP systems, automation testing tools or specialized manufacturing equipment. Aptitude to learn and optimize compliance reporting systems. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required. - Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication to document, report, and explain technical issues. - Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or years of equivalent work experience in Quality Control.
