Overview
Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry in Peoria, IL. Cardiac Med/Surg Telemetry unit. Locum tenens assignment with start and end dates:
Start September 29, 2025;
End December 27, 2025;
Assignment length: 13 weeks. Shift: 12-hour days (7:00am – 7:30pm). Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Estimated weekly salary: $2000 - $2050.
Location:
Peoria, IL 61614 (Illinois healthcare job).
- Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process and evidence-based protocols
- Assess, monitor, and document patient status through interviews, observation, and physical assessments
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team
- Modify care plans as needed and ensure accurate documentation
- Perform bedside lab testing and maintain quality control per hospital policies
- Promote professional development for self and team members
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care and delegate tasks appropriately
- Advocate for patients and use effective communication strategies to optimize outcomes
- Educate patients and families with age-appropriate teaching strategies
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 3 years of recent RN experience (Med/Surg Telemetry preferred)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred - BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Strong communication and multicultural sensitivity skills
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email, web browser)
- Excellent critical thinking and clinical judgment abilities
