Manufacturing Engineer - Safety - Peoria, IL

Our large manufacturing client located in Peoria, Illinois, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer - Safety, to add to their team.

Provide support to production and assure optimum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Primary objective s include creation of Standard Work documentation and performing Risk Assessments for processes related to the machining and assembly team.

Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:

• Creating Standard Work documentation
• Experience assessing safety & ergonomic risks
• Good industrial background
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
• Computer Skills (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
• Technical writing experience
• Experience with SFMEA
• Daily in-person interaction with the operations team, manufacturing engineers, and safety professionals.

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Industrial Engineering or similar field is preferred,
• Must have 5+ years of experience working in the manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations (machining, assembly) is required
• Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer software
• Strong ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities is required
• Must be self-directed, self-starter, and be able to multi-task
• High energy and a demonstrated ability to implement and get results are essential
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Must enjoy working in a team environment, and have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Ability to read, understand and follow regulations and procedures is required
• Ability to listen to others is important for this job
• Professional attitude, willingness to learn is required
