Job Overview

The Painter position is responsible for performing a wide range of production and maintenance painting tasks. This includes spray painting, stencil and decal application, cosmetic body panel repair, and surface preparation. The role also involves cleaning paint facilities, washing parts and equipment using approved techniques, and ensuring high-quality finishes on various surfaces. The Painter will work from provided documentation, maintain quality standards, and may train other operators as directed.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Perform all types of production spray painting, including stencil and decal work.
  • Wash parts and equipment using steam, hot water, or other approved methods.
  • Conduct cosmetic body panel repairs as required.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Execute maintenance painting using brush, spray, or roller.
  • Refinish walls, floors, and ceilings as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of paint facilities.
  • Follow appropriate paperwork and ensure quality of own work.
  • Train other operators as directed.
  • Utilize information systems as necessary to complete job duties.
Qualifications / Requirements

Experience: 2–3 years as a painter in a production environment.

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficiency in prime enamel painting.
  • Skilled in airless, air-assisted, and quart gun painting techniques.

Additional

Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience operating hand jacks and steam‑cleaning equipment.
  • Detailing and decal application experience preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and train others when needed.
