Lab Technician I – Bio Urja Group
Bio Urja Renewables, LLC is a leading manufacturer of industrial‑grade, beverage‑grade, and fuel‑grade ethanol and co‑products, located in Peoria, IL. Position Summary
Under limited supervision, conduct in‑process and finished product testing to determine adherence to established specifications of quality and purity. The shift will be from 7 PM to 5 AM, four nights a week after training.
Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze data for a variety of purposes, such as production, pollution control, quality control, and minor research.
- Test and analyze products, such as feed, beverage, and industrial alcohol, to determine if product meets plant specifications prior to release.
- Release in‑spec vessels and report out‑of‑spec vessels. Kosovo
- Test and analyze production samples, such as fermenters, beer stills, rectifiers, etc., and report uncharacteristic results.
- Test and analyze wastewater samples to ensure effluent is within GPSD discharge limits and report any violations.
- Document results of tests, readings, etc equipada in logbooks and in TLC (Total Lab Client).
- Prepare chemical solutions for use in lab.
- Maintain and calibrate all lab equipment and related field instrumentation.
- Maintain awareness of and adhere to all FDA, GMP, TTB, USP, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelines.
- Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Ability to work on multiple tasks.

- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to understand and comply with plant GMP and personnel practice requirements.
- Computer skills to operate lab instrument programs.
- Demonstrated math skills to perform calculations associated with lab testing. TAKE ON
- 2‑ or 4‑year science degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
- 2 plus years of work experience in a quality assurance lab preferred.
