Indirect Services (Part of FSD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In Indirect Services, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. Indirect Services is responsible for the global procurement of all Services and Products that fall within Indirect Categories of Spend.

As the Indirect Procurement Customer Relationship Manager you will be responsible for leading a procurement team whose activities support Indirect Procurement categories for customers across Building Construction Products (BCP), Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) and Global Facilities (GF) in the United States. This team acts as the interface between stakeholders and global category teams and is responsible to procure materials and services needed for the facilities to operate while delivering excellent local service to internal customers.

The Manager, Procurement, will be accountable to drive strategic improvements year-over-year with regards to quality, cost management, logistics, development, and overall strategic executable plans to support our Enterprise growth targets.

What You Will Do
  • Develop, communicate, and implement sourcing strategies for indirect spend across supported facilities.
  • Manage a team of purchasing professionals who support indirect procurement categories, and compliance to Purchasing Practices and Enterprise Procedures.
  • Develop, mentor, and train personnel capable of delivering the global strategy. Adhere to the approved Performance Management Plan. Identify performance gaps. Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards within this diverse global organization and recognize employee excellence.
  • Implement successful initiatives fully satisfying customers’ expectations. Implement and execute processes and systems that mitigate Caterpillar risk and delivers the best overall solution for our internal customers. Lead teams to fully understand the requirements.
  • Manage expectations for Indirect Procurement, to deliver benefits required to sustain a competitive advantage.
  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.
What You Have
  • Education/

    Experience:

    Degree or equivalent experience desired
  • Effective Communications:
    Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Negotiating:
    Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Audit and Compliance:
    Knowledge of major responsibilities and tasks of Audit and Compliance (A&C) function; ability to manage the operation of A&C function in various business environments.
  • Business Intelligence:
    Knowledge of business intelligence; ability to utilize business processes and technologies for gathering, storing, analyzing, and providing access to data that helps the organization make better business decisions.
  • Category Management:
    Knowledge of category management within an organization's goods and services sector; ability to use this knowledge to analyze and improve the end-to-end procurement process and maximize business profitability.
