Expected pay for this position is $44.77 - $52.67/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.
OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Claims Manager is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and managing professional and general liability claims involving OSF under the supervision of Director Claims/Litigation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma/ GED
Experience:
- Experience in legal department/insurance company specializing in medical liability defense litigation.
- Previous experience working in a fast‑paced high‑volume environment.
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
- Demonstrated proficiency in medical liability claims management, adjusting and evaluation of damages.
- Strong attention to details.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple cases simultaneously. Excellent time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
3 years of experience in medical liability claims management, adjusting and evaluation.
Licensure/ Certification:
Paralegal certification;
Certified Professional Claims Adjuster (CPCU)
