Expected pay for this position is $25.10 - $29.54/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Health Specialist works to improve the health status of the community through supporting care for the whole person. The Community Health Specialist works with community organizations, faith-based organizations and key stakeholders to promote awareness and engagement in OSF Health Care(OSF) community outreach initiatives; as well as assisting in coordination, implementation and awareness of outreach initiatives. This position is also responsible for operations of the mobile health unit.

This is a part-time position.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare, social services, community development or a related field

Experience:

  • Two years' experience in the healthcare, social services or community development.
  • Maintains acceptable driving record as set forth by OSF Automotive Services Driver Criteria.

Licensure/ Certification:
Current and appropriate State Driver's License. Class C - non CDL Driver's license obtained upon start date.

Other Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Master's degree

Experience:

American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Advance care planning or related training

Licensure/ Certification:
Class C-non CDL Driver's license

Other Skills/ Knowledge: N/A
