We are seeking an experienced Patient Services Specialist to join our on‑site, full‑time team.
Base pay range$16.00/hr – $21.00/hr
The position is responsible for providing superior customer service in all aspects of the dermatology office to ensure that patients receive a memorable and satisfying experience.
Position OverviewReporting directly to the Practice Manager, the Patient Services Specialist serves as a liaison between patients, clients, and clinical staff, greeting, directing, instructing, and scheduling patients, clients, and visitors. The role also includes receiving payments, issuing receipts, and posting payment data.
Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with patients to assist in access to care by answering telephone and other incoming communications in a timely and customer‑service oriented manner.
- Assist patients in scheduling appointments for multiple providers across various office locations.
- Obtain accurate and complete demographic and financial information from patients or their representatives through established screening techniques.
- Present, explain, and obtain appropriate signatures for legal and compliance related documents.
- Electronically verify patients’ insurance coverage.
- Collect patient payments, co‑pays, deductibles, prepayments, coinsurances, as necessary.
- Enter daily billing information at the end of each patient’s appointment.
- Anticipate, identify, and ensure patient needs are being met in a friendly and professional manner while ensuring their complete comfort and satisfaction.
- Provide excellent customer service on the phone and/or in person.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable HIPAA requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical office and/or hospital experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Ability to deal with patients, clinical and medical staff, and the public in a professional manner.
- Discretion and the ability to handle confidential information.
- Organization skills and the ability to multi‑task.

Salary InformationThis is a Non‑Exempt position. Pay will be based on years of experience. The budgeted hourly pay range is $16.00–$21.10.
