REPORTS TO:
Director of Vocational Services
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS: The Employment Specialist is responsible for developing Individual Service Plans for community placement consumers, maintaining consumer files, and developing new community placement opportunities. Responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with CWTC’s mission, policies, and in a manner that supports individuals with disabilities. All employees are required to attend mandated training sessions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESWORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical requirements include driving, walking, bending, lifting up to 20 pounds, driving and transporting adults with disabilities and working in an office environment. Interpersonal requirements include speaking with the public as a representative of CWTC and the Placement Program.
RELATED CONDITION:
All employees are responsible for reporting any information, however acquired, pertaining to possible abuse or neglect of consumers to the Director of Quality Improvement, the Safety Director, or the Executive Director.
SAFETY AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION:
Employees must follow all safety policies and use necessary protective equipment when applicable. Employees are responsible for reporting safety hazards and/or accidents to their supervisors immediately.
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a human service field or 5 years experience in job development for adults with disabilities
- Valid drivers’ license, current auto insurance and reliable transportation
- Two years experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Able to communicate and write effectively
