Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour
. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position. This position offers a $2.25/hour 3rd shift differential and a $1.75/hour weekend differential.

UNIT OVERVIEW: AMSU is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Forest Park building. We have 2 units that function independently but we are one department. We serve the adult med-surg patient population. Our patients have a variety of diagnoses that offer a broad range of clinical experiences in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed.

Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
  • CPR American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in a clinical healthcare environment (six months)
  • Experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients (six months)
