Overview
Position Summary The Private Mortgage Banker is a key member of the Private Banking team, responsible for delivering specialized mortgage solutions to high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) as part of a comprehensive financial strategy. This role requires deep expertise in residential mortgage lending, particularly jumbo and portfolio products, and a strong understanding of the unique financial needs of affluent clients. The Private Mortgage Banker works closely with Private Bankers, Wealth Advisors, and internal partners to ensure mortgage offerings are seamlessly integrated into broader wealth management plans.
The position demands a high level of discretion, relationship management skills, and technical knowledge across credit, underwriting, and compliance. Candidates should bring prior experience in private banking or high-end mortgage origination, along with an established network of clients who expect personalized, high-touch service.
- Serve as the primary mortgage advisor for high-net-worth clients, building long-term relationships based on trust and personalized service.
- Partner with Private Bankers and Wealth Advisors to integrate mortgage solutions into broader financial plans.
- Originate residential mortgage loans, including jumbo and portfolio products, tailored to the unique needs of affluent clients.
- Provide strategic mortgage advice aligned with clients’ investment, estate, and tax planning goals.
- Maintain deep knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration preferred. - Experience:
Minimum 5 years in private banking, wealth management, or high-end mortgage lending. - Licensing:
Active NMLS license required. - Skills:
Expertise in jumbo and portfolio mortgage products; strong credit underwriting and wealth management knowledge; excellent relationship management, communication, and presentation skills; high level of discretion, confidentiality, and integrity.
