Responsibilities- Provide engineering support for two product families:
- High Voltage Components, including electrical connectors, contractors, relays, circuit protection devices, and EV charging plugs and inlets
- High Speed Data Components, including high-speed data connectors and cables supporting next-generation Caterpillar machines
- Support design, development, and validation activities for electrical and electronic components
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, validation, manufacturing, and suppliers
- Assist with component selection, technical evaluations, and issue resolution
- Support testing activities, analyze results, and document findings
- Participate in problem-solving efforts related to performance, quality, or integration issues
- Maintain engineering documentation and support change management activities
- Ensure work aligns with Caterpillar engineering standards, safety requirements, and quality expectations
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics
- 0 to 3 years of relevant engineering experience
- Entry-level candidates and early-career engineers are encouraged to apply
- Basic understanding of electrical components and systems
- Familiarity with high-voltage electrical systems and/or high-speed data components preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn Caterpillar products, systems, and engineering processes
- Attention to detail and a proactive, support-oriented mindset
