Job Description & How to Apply Below
Lead modeling, analysis and architecture trade-offs for medium/high-voltage power converters and motor-drives used in off-highway EV powertrains, and recommend practical, high-efficiency, high-power-density solutions.
Key responsibilities- Model and analyze AC–DC, DC–AC, isolated and non-isolated DC–DC converters and motor-drives (hundreds of volts to kV; 100 kW → multi-MW).
- Evaluate candidate topologies, modulation schemes and components; quantify tradeoffs (efficiency, power density, thermal losses, cost).
- Develop electric and loss-thermal models and run simulation-based and analytical studies to validate recommendations.
- Assess and compare powertrain architectures for off-highway EV applications; produce clear quantitative recommendations.
- Perform deep-dive circuit, control-theory and magnetics analyses; iterate designs with practical constraints in mind.
- Prepare and present technical results to internal teams and customers; keep abreast of latest research and industry trends.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience in at least one of: medium/high-voltage power electronics (bidirectional DC-DC, inverter, charger), motor-drives & controls, or energy storage systems (batteries/fuel cells).
- Strong foundation in power-electronics theory, magnetics, and continuous/discrete control theory.
- Proficiency with model-based simulation tools (Simulink); working knowledge of MATLAB or Python.
- Practical understanding of high-power converter design constraints, component selection and thermal/loss issues.
- Clear verbal/written communication and effective team/cross-functional collaboration skills.
- ≥3 years industry experience.
- Experience with multi-level, resonant, or dual-active-bridge converters and related modulation/control strategies.
- Strong background in thermal management and vehicle systems.
- Good presentation, organization and time-management skills.
