ASALA Program Manager
Reports to:
Chief Operations & Program Officer
Status:
Full-time, Exempt
Salary Range: $45,000 – $50,000 (commensurate with experience)
Position SummaryThe ASALA Program Manager leads the planning, implementation, and performance of the Arts, Science & Leadership Academy (ASALA). This role ensures high-quality youth programming, effective coordination of program staff, accurate program data, and full compliance with grant and organizational requirements.
Core Responsibilities Program Operations- Oversee daily implementation of ASALA programming, including after school and summer programming.
- Maintain program schedules, staffing assignments, and classroom coverage.
- Ensure programs operate in alignment with ART INC protocols and program standards.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability for Site Leads, Teaching Artists, and interns delivering program services.
- Establish clear expectations for staff roles, schedules, and program responsibilities.
- Address performance concerns promptly and elevate issues to leadership when necessary.
- Ensure attendance and participant data are entered accurately in program systems (Sawyer, Cornerstone, etc.).
- Review program data regularly to maintain reporting accuracy.
- Ensure incident reports and documentation are completed according to protocol.
- Maintain positive relationships with youth, families, schools, and community partners.
- Respond to program concerns and ensure issues are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
- Support continuous program improvement through feedback, evaluation, and data review.
- Serve as the worksite supervisor for Pathways interns placed within ASALA programs.
- Provide day-to-day guidance on workplace expectations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Youth Development, Arts Education, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience managing youth programs, after school initiatives, or community-based programs.
- Experience supervising staff or program facilitators.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- ASALA programs operate smoothly and consistently.
- Program staff maintain structured, well-managed classrooms with fun & engaging activities.
- Attendance and participant data are accurate and up to date.
- Program documentation and reporting remain audit-ready.
- Youth participants experience engaging, structured programming.
