Become a part of the Viking family! St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School in Peoria, Illinois is seeking a K–6 Music Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year to inspire, teach, and nurture students through music in a Christ-centered elementary school environment.
The K–6 Music Teacher plays a vital role in fostering students' musical growth while supporting their spiritual, academic, and social development. Through engaging instruction, joyful music-making, and opportunities to participate in prayer, liturgy, and school celebrations, the music teacher helps students develop musical skills, confidence, creativity, and an appreciation for music as a gift from God.

Requirements- Bachelor's degree in music education or a related field
- Illinois teaching license/certificate (or ability to obtain)
- Willingness to share the Catholic faith and a love of Christ with students and the school community
- Ability to engage, inspire, and differentiate instruction to support diverse learners in grades K–6
- Promotes a learning environment that is faith-filled, safe, and conducive to musical growth and student learning
- Plans and delivers engaging music instruction aligned with diocesan philosophy and school goals
- Implements a developmentally appropriate K–6 music curriculum
- Integrates music into liturgies, prayer services, and school celebrations as appropriate
- Directs and evaluates student learning in accordance with diocesan goals and policies
- Employs a variety of instructional strategies, activities, and materials to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students
- Creates a classroom environment that fosters creativity, participation, and respect
- Collaborates with classroom teachers, special area teachers, and administrators
- Communicates and partners effectively with parents and families
- Performs other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned by the Building Administrator or Superintendent
- Salary Range: $34,000–$65,000
