Overview
The Construction Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are executed safely, according to approved engineering documentation, regulatory requirements, their standards, and project procedures. The role provides day‑to‑day field leadership, coordination, and documentation to support the successful execution of construction works during FEL‑4 and project execution phases.
Responsibilities- Safety Compliance and Field Leadership
Ensure full compliance with all Orbia and site‑specific Safety requirements. Immediately report any unsafe conditions or deviations to the Onsite Safety Coordinator and request corrective actions as needed. Actively promote safe work practices among contractors and field personnel. - Regulatory and Engineering Standard Verification
Confirm that all construction activities adhere to applicable codes, regulations, and Orbia engineering standards. Any deviation must be formally documented, reported to Site Project Management (PM), and processed through an approved Management of Change (MOC) procedure. - Construction Quality Oversight
Monitor and verify all construction work including structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil activities, ensuring that work is performed in accordance with design specifications, approved drawings, and project quality requirements. - Field Documentation and Daily/Weekly/Monthly Reporting
Issue field reports detailing progress, delays, issues, contractor performance, safety observations, and material/equipment constraints. Escalate any significant issues or potential schedule impacts to the GM on a daily basis. - Management of RFIs and Field Clarifications
Coordinate with Document Control to submit, track, and close RFIs (Requests for Information). Ensure timely technical responses to maintain schedule adherence. - Control of Field Changes and As‑Built Documentation
Verify that all field changes have been properly reviewed, approved, and documented. Ensure all drawings are correctly redlined in the field and submitted for final update in Autodesk or other project document systems. - Coordination with Contractors and Multidisciplinary Teams
Serve as the primary field interface for contractors, ensuring alignment with construction plans, sequencing, interface points, and milestone requirements. Support resolution of cross‑discipline constraints impacting construction progress. - PSSR Support and Commissioning Readiness
Collaborate with the project team to complete the construction portion of the PSSR (Pre‑Startup Safety Review). Ensure all punch items, mechanical completions, and readiness checks are completed before handover to commissioning. - Review of Training and Operational Documentation
Review and validate trainings, O&M manuals, and operational procedures to ensure all construction‑related information is correctly incorporated and consistent with the final installed configuration. - Final Documentation Package
Prepare a complete construction documentation package including, but not limited to: updated as‑built drawings, equipment records, installation checklists, test results, inspection reports, and training documents. If contractors performed portions of the work, ensure all scope‑related documents are included. - Material and Equipment Verification
Verify delivery, condition, and installation of construction materials and equipment. Report shortages, quality issues, or nonconforming items and coordinate corrective actions. - Schedule and Progress Tracking
Support project controls with accurate field progress updates, quantities installed, forecasts, and identification of risks to schedule.
