Position OverviewThe Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Day Care Licensing Team Clerical. The position will provide clerical support as a secretary to a unit supervisor and professional staff, answer phones, greet visitors, maintain files, and perform general clerical functions while compiling and assembling data.
Job Responsibilities- Serves as Day Care Licensing Team Clerical
- Greets visitors and answers incoming phone calls to determine the nature of the request, many of which may be hostile
- As one of the word processing operators, compiles and assembles data
- Establishes and maintains a filing system, monitoring to ensure information is readily available for reference/viewing
- Generates standardized first response to applicants
- Compiles information necessary to prepare travel vouchers for assigned staff
- Receives, sorts, opens, reads, and distributes incoming mail
- Follows oral and written instructions, gaining knowledge and experience in and applying evolving automated office equipment and technology to complete complex tasks
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
