Job Responsibilities

Facilitates advocacy of volunteer Guardians ad Litem for child abuse and neglect cases for the assigned county/circuit.

Functions as a support staff to assigned volunteers to include all administrative duties required to keep accurate case files for volunteers and cases, at the direction of the Circuit and/or County Coordinator.

Coordinates the receipt and distribution of monthly monitoring information for assigned volunteers. Solicits monitoring reports from volunteers as necessary. Places monthly monitoring information into the case record via the file and COMET database.

Assists with and is proficient in maintaining programmatic, child specific and hearing related data in the COMET database. Provides requested statistical information from COMET to management staff for reports, planning, and program evaluation.

Keeps case files current, organized and secures additional information from volunteers and agencies as requested by supervisory staff. Handles and distributes mail as needed.

Assists in volunteer retention and recruitment through telephone and written contact with existing and potential volunteers in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner for all circuit/counties.

Handles special projects as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalency plus two (2) years administrative experience, or an associate's degree plus one (1) year administrative experience. A bachelor's degree or higher with related training may be substituted for experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Employee should be computer literate, have strong verbal and writing skills, and possess a strong ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds. Data entry experience and good time management skills are desirable. Strong organizational skills required. An ability to establish and maintain productive and effective working relationships with volunteers, co-workers, and the public is a requirement. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
