Job SummaryThe Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry seeks a Correctional Officer 1 at the Perryville Complex. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, secure, and humane correctional environment while advancing public safety through evidence‑based practices.
Job Duties- Ensure the security of the inmate population within facility boundaries.
- Provide supervision and guidance to inmates.
- Conduct thorough pat‑and‑strip searches to maintain safety.
- Effectively de‑escalate incidents and respond to emergency situations.
- Initiate and complete accurate, timely reports.
- Fulfill all assigned post duties diligently.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism.
- Physical fitness and stamina for extended standing, searches, and rapid responses.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality in decision‑making.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- No felony convictions.
- Proof of legal U.S. residency.
- Background investigation clearance.
- Successful completion of E‑Verify and a Tuberculosis (TB) test.
- Vacation and sick days with 10 paid holidays per year.
