DOOR SALES SPECIALIST (High-End Residential & Custom)
We are partnering with a premier building materials supplier specializing in high-end, custom residential doors. This is not an entry-level sales role and not a general retail sales position. We are seeking a proven Door Sales Professional who understands the technical, design, and construction aspects of selling premium door systems.
This position requires prior experience selling interior and/or exterior doors in a building materials, millwork, or specialty lumber environment.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Generate and secure door sales with builders, remodelers, contractors, and homeowners by providing expert-level product knowledge and project consultation. This role requires the ability to guide clients through high-end product selection, read plans, quote accurately, and manage orders from selection through delivery.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Promote, sell, and secure premium interior and exterior door systems
• Work directly with builders, remodelers, architects, and homeowners
• Assist customers in selecting appropriate door styles, materials, hardware, and configurations
• Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
• Prepare accurate material takeoffs and detailed quotations
• Coordinate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
• Follow orders through production, customization, and installation stages
• Resolve product and job-site issues quickly and professionally
• Build long-term relationships to generate repeat and referral business
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of door trends, materials, and code requirements
• Attend training sessions as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Door Sales Specialists must:
• Have 2+ years of direct door sales experience (interior/exterior/custom)
• Have experience working within a lumberyard, millwork shop, door shop, or building materials supplier
• Understand pre-hung systems, jamb configurations, casing, hardware, and specialty products
• Be able to read blueprints and perform accurate takeoffs
• Communicate effectively with contractors and project managers
• Be detail-oriented and organized
• Be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Be proficient with Microsoft Office and able to learn company software
PREFERRED BACKGROUND:
• Experience selling high-end, custom, or architectural doors
• Existing relationships with local builders or remodelers
• Familiarity with estimating software
• Knowledge of building codes and installation standards
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Work in both showroom and warehouse environments
• Occasionally lift/move materials up to 50-75 pounds
• Regular standing, walking, and client interaction
