Xerox corporation is seeking a motivated Shop Technician to join our team based in Peoria, IL. The Shop Technician is responsible for set-up and refurbishment of a variety of printers and copiers, including Xerox and other manufacturers. This is a full-time opportunity in a shop / warehouse setting.
What You’ll Do- Assemble and refurbish various models and manufacturers of copiers and printers for our customers.
- Customize and install software, applications and other customer requested programs.
- Troubleshoot, breakdown and diagnose equipment in need of repair, including software and hardware updates.
- Test equipment for performance and copy quality.
- Ensure that required materials are included in packaging.
- Confirm that corresponding assigned serial numbers match with order requests.
- Update the operations team on the status of each work order.
- Assist with warehouse operations such as unboxing and distributing materials while maintaining a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- Displays a willingness to be trained on digital office equipment.
- Prior hands-on experience with troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical equipment repairs.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to lift, push, pull and maneuver objects weighing up to 100lbs.
- Experience using smartphones, laptops and tablets with exposure to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Previous experience with software and hardware updates preferred.
- Familiarity with networking and internet connectivity preferred.
- Experience with copiers and printers preferred.
- Hands‑on training of Xerox equipment and all aspects of the Shop Technician role and responsibilities.
- Job shadowing to prepare you to perform repairs, set-ups and troubleshoot independently.
