Available Shift: A Shift, D Shift

Purpose of Position

May be assigned to Warehouse or Production responsibilities. Provides daily supervision of area activities to ensure internal/external customer demands are met. Drives continuous improvement of SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity) within their area of responsibility and identifies areas where they can partner with other supervisors and managers to drive continuous improvement across the organization. Oversees the workflow and needs of the operations staff in areas of responsibility during assigned shift.

Functions
  • Responsible for production oversight including embroidery or heat seal; packing; shipping e-commerce or ship-only orders; and quality assurance for the assigned shift.
  • Responsible for warehouse oversight including processing and shipping orders (picking, packing, shipping), receiving and stocking inventory, quality assurance, processing returns, stocking supplies, and related duties for the assigned shift. Supports accurate inventory through robust receiving, picking and cycle count processes.
  • Supports Lean operational excellence throughout their area of responsibility.
  • Trains, leads, coaches, and motivates a highly effective team.
  • Identifies cost-savings measures and supports corrective action plans; works with the Value Stream Manager (VSM) to define operational goals and develop plans to reach them.
  • Enables the team to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity metrics (SQDIP); uses trend analysis to identify improvement opportunities and executes continuous improvement activities.
  • Monitors weekly and daily schedules and coordinates labor to meet on-time delivery objectives while minimizing labor expenses.
  • Communicates business information in a timely manner and conducts regular team meetings to enlist all associates in the commitment to excellence.
  • Supports a culture of stretch goal attainment and enforces all HR, Safety, and Security work policies, specific work instructions, and quality system requirements.
  • Ensures all associates are trained to perform required work and tracks progress on cross-training; evaluates performance and development needs, coaching and counseling as needed, and collaborates with VSM and HR to resolve issues.
  • Directs the training of associates on operations processes and equipment.
  • Fosters respectful behavior and effective workflow management; evaluates associates to support performance improvement.
  • Submits daily product reports and transactional functions; participates in hiring/termination decisions in cooperation with HR and VSM.
  • Responsible for managing and mentoring Leads and operations associates; participates in kaizen or improvement project teams; ensures project quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Interfaces effectively with other Supervisors and Managers to achieve goals using shared resources.
Other Non-essential Functions
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education, Background and Skill Requirements
  • 3-5 years leadership experience with a BA/BS Degree; or Associate’s Degree with 7+ years’ equivalent experience. May consider direct Antigua Apparel experience in lieu of education requirements.
  • Highly focused on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Good analytical skills; able to perform basic Excel functions, data entry, and general algebra understanding.
  • Scheduling and planning skills helpful.
  • Lean manufacturing experience (Kaizens, Kanban, root cause countermeasures).
  • Good writing and oral communication skills with the ability to interface with a variety of people at various technical and management levels.
  • Working knowledge of warehousing/distribution or Lean Manufacturing processes preferred.
