Purpose of Position- May be assigned to Production responsibilities
- Provides daily supervision of area activities to ensure internal/external customer demands are met.
- Drives continuous improvement of SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity) within their area of responsibility and identifies areas where they can partner with other supervisors and managers to drive continuous improvement across the organization.
- Oversee the workflow and needs of the operations staff in areas of responsibility during assigned shift
- Responsibilities specific to Production
- Oversees production including embroidery or heat seal; packing; shipping e-commerce or ship-only orders; and quality assurance for assigned shift
- Responsibilities specific to Warehouse
- Oversees processing and shipping orders including picking, packing, and shipping orders; receiving and stocking inventory; quality assurance, processing returns; stocking supplies; etc. for assigned shift
- Supports an accurate inventory through executing robust receiving, picking and cycle count processes
- Supports Lean operational excellence throughout their area of responsibility
- Training, leading, coaching, and motivating a highly effective team.
- Identifies cost-savings measures to Value Stream Manager (VSM) and supports corrective action plans
- Works closely with the VSM to define operational goals and develop plans to effectively reach them
- Enables team to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity metrics (SQDIP). Using trend analysis, identifies areas for improvement and executes continuous improvement activities
- Closely monitors weekly and daily schedules and coordinates labor to meet on-time-delivery objectives while minimizing labor expenses
- Enlists all associates in the commitment to excellence by communicating appropriate business information in a timely manner and conducting regular team meetings.
- Supports a culture of stretch goal attainment.
- Enforces all HR, Safety, and Security work policies, specific work instructions, and quality system requirements.
- Ensure all associates are trained to perform the required work and tracks progress on cross-training matrix
- Evaluates associates’ performance and development plans, both as needed and during annual performance evaluations. Coaches, trains, and counsels associates to improve performance. Works closely with the VSM and HR Dept. to resolve issues resulting from unacceptable associate’s behavior.
- Direct the training of associates on operations processes and equipment.
- Behave, speak, and treat others in a respectful manner while watching and directing workflow.
- Evaluate associates to provide help with improving and/or correcting performance and behavior.
- Submit daily product reports and transactional functions.
- Recommends hiring and terminations, partnering with HR and VSM
- Responsible for managing and mentoring of Leads and operations associates
- Participate in kaizen or improvement project teams
- Responsible for meeting project quality, delivery, and cost objectives
- Interface effectively with other Supervisors and Managers to achieve overall goals using shared resources
- Other duties as assigned.
