Overview
Position Title: Utility Plant Operator II – Rotational Assignment (Greenway)
The City of Peoria's Water Department has an opportunity for a Utility Plant Operator II position at the Greenway Water Treatment Plant. The role monitors, operates, and performs basic preventative maintenance on treatment plants and remote site equipment. This is accomplished by performing routine inspections and identifying issues on processes and equipment at treatment plants and remote sites. Other duties may be assigned.
Shift work, weekends, holidays, standby duty, and callback duty may be required.
This is a rotational shift position. Work schedule will vary based on department needs and may include rotational shifts: 1st shift, 2nd shift, 3rd shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum QualificationsEducation:
- High school graduation or equivalency.
Experience:
- 2 years’ experience. Considerable previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions
Physical Demands:
- Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort.
Licenses and
Certifications:
- Valid Arizona Class “D” Driver’s License at the time of hire.
- Candidates must possess an ADEQ Grade III certification or a Grade II certification in the relevant field upon hire, with the requirement to achieve a Grade III certification within one year of employment
