Surgical Technologist
Under minimal direction of the Nurse Manager, the Surgical Technologist is a key member of the perioperative team, supporting a wide variety of surgical procedures. In this role, you’ll scrub in for cases, anticipate surgeon needs, and ensure the operating room is prepared with the right instruments, equipment, and sterile environment to deliver safe, efficient patient care.
You’ll work hands‑on with both standard and advanced surgical equipment while collaborating closely with surgeons, nurses, and other OR staff to support smooth surgical operations from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities- Plan for and scrub a diverse range of surgical procedures
- Anticipate surgeon needs and provide proactive intraoperative support
- Assemble and operate specialized OR equipment, including surgical drills
- Maintain an aseptic environment and uphold patient safety standards
- Care for, clean, and monitor surgical instruments and equipment
- Oversee sterilizers and sterilization processes to ensure compliance
- Contribute as an active team member and support daily departmental operations

Hourly Pay Rate$25.96 - $38.29
Qualifications- Education: Requires a high school diploma or GED. Must have graduated from a vocational program for Surgical Technicians or technologists. Three (3) years of on‑the‑job training experience may be accepted in lieu of completion of a vocational program.
- Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year of progressively responsible Surgical Tech in a multi‑specialty complex cases experience demonstrating an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Prefer three to five (3–5) years of experience with diverse surgical specialties.
- Certification/Licensure: Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
or Tech in Surgery‑Certified (TS‑C) is required and must be maintained. Within three months, a BLS card must be obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center. Must have Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. (Ambulatory Clinics:
Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card.) - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English. Requires specialized knowledge and skills in OR practices. Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills to enhance and encourage collaborative staff and community relationships. Must be able to lead and mentor other staff. Must be able to respond quickly and be familiar with operating procedures to have instruments ready for surgeons.
