Senior Accountant

Description

Our team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Peoria area. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in accounting, advanced knowledge of either Great Plains or Oracle, and a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance. This position will be responsible for managing complex accounting tasks and supporting financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

+ Handle account analysis, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance

+ Lead month-end and year-end close processes

+ Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

+ Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements

+ Support internal and external audits

+ Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions as needed

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals

Requirements

Software Requirements:

+ Proficiency with Great Plains OR Oracle is required

+

Experience with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite is preferred

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required

+ Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience

+ Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

+ Excellent communication and organizational abilities

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team

+ Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
