Tri-State Tree Service seeks a skilled CDL Driver/Groundsman to join our experienced tree care team. This dual‑role position combines commercial driving with hands‑on groundsman duties supporting our crews throughout daily operations.
Key Responsibilities Driving & Equipment Operation- Safely operate company trucks and specialized equipment (mini skids & chippers)
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain equipment in excellent condition
- Transport crews and materials to job sites efficiently and safely
- Collect, drag, and pile branches and debris throughout the workday
- Operate ground‑based tools including handsaws, pole saws, and chainsaws
- Unload, organize, and stow materials and equipment at work sites
- Perform site breakdown and thorough cleanup duties
- Maintain constant voice communication with climbers and aerial workers
- Safeguard employees and public from work area hazards
- Participate in weekly safety meetings and daily job briefings
- Enforce safety practices and ensure proper PPE usage
- Communicate professionally with clients
- Report any customer concerns or property damage immediately
- Complete maintenance tasks as assigned by crew leader
- Maintain clean, organized work areas at all times
- CDL Class A license (Required)
- Clean driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements
- Previous CDL A driving
- Groundsman experience preferred, but if you are a hard worker we can teach you the tree side of things
- Strong physical fitness and ability to work in all weather conditions
- Excellent communication and instruction‑following abilities
- Good vision, hearing, and physical strength for demanding outdoor work
- Ability to drag heavy brush and work extended periods on foot
- Comfortable working around heavy machinery and aerial operations
This position requires successful completion of pre‑employment screening, including but not limited to: drug/alcohol testing, background verification, and motor vehicle record review. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results of all required screenings. Candidates unable to meet these requirements should not apply.
